About Nick T. Wright
Attorney Nick T. Wright is one of the founders of Welch & Wright, PLLC. Nick is a trial attorney who has focused his practice on criminal defense cases, particularly ones involving DUI defense. Nick has handled thousands of cases all over the Commonwealth, including Hampton Roads, the Greater Richmond area, and northern Virginia. He has handled a variety of cases from traffic tickets and accident cases to serious felonies.

Biography
Born and raised in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area, Nick always knew he wanted to be a lawyer. Nick is a graduate of Virginia Tech where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in political science. After graduation, he was offered a full academic scholarship to the University of Richmond School of Law, where he attended and received his law degree. While in law school, Nick focused his studies on criminal law and litigation.
During law school, Nick interned for the Newport News Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office for 3 summers. Then after graduating from law school, he was offered and accepted a fellowship position while awaiting his Virginia Bar Exam results. Working in a prosecutor’s office gave Nick invaluable experience and perspective on how both sides of the criminal justice system work. He uses this experience to better represent his clients in criminal matters.
Nick also interned at the Virginia General Assembly for then-Delegate Jason Miyares of the 82nd District in Virginia Beach, who went on to serve as the 48th Attorney General of Virginia.
Nick grew up in Hampton Roads and continues to have strong personal and professional relationships throughout the Tidewater region. When Nick is not in the courtroom, he likes to relax by playing golf, going to the beach, watching sports, and hanging out with his dog, Stan.
